The Ocala area is truly a busy market regarding the sales of homes, especially short sales and foreclosures. We currently have over 1100 homes for sale that are short sales and foreclosures and the majority of them are exceptional buys.  Ocala real estate prices have truly declined to a very attractive Buyers market as those who are in a position to buy are able to get beautiful properties, not all distressed properties!  The days of beat up and rotten homes is not what we are experiencing.  Our short sale market is featuring homes of executives who have had to leave the area as they seek jobs and can no longer make mortgage payments.  I make it a point to counsel with clients both buying and selling short sales so that they are able to get the best bang for the buck!

Foreclosed homes in the Ocala market and also in our retirement markets of Summerfield and The Villages are usually in great condition and are priced for quick sales.  Keep in mind, many of these are owner occupied properties that the seller has given a Deed In Lieu of foreclosure to protect their credit.  They want to do the right thing, although their financial position will not enable them to make payments on their homes! These are now sold on the resold market as a Foreclosure and give great opportunities for a Buyer to make a good deal!
